Check-in time is 15:00 and check-out time is 10:00
Please check in by 20:00 where possible
Please contact us prior to your stay if you will be checking in later than 20:00
*we accept payments in cash only. Payments are accepted when you check in to the inn.
*there is no post office in the Daisen temple area

*Winter (ski season) … all rooms are heated (we request a fee of 500 yen for each customer for the heating additionally)

*on the day, if arrival times may change drastically, please contact us beforehand where possible

 - - - To maximise your experience at the guest house…

There is a hot spring facility (Onsen) nearby
At JU-An, there is only one shower room, therefore, we recommend going to the nearby hot spring; “Gouen Hot spring” (open from 11:00~20:00)
Normally, the entrance fee (adult) is 600 yen, but for customers staying at Juan, it is a special price of 550 yen, therefore please enquire about the fee in Juan
It is a 5 minute walk to the hot spring.
Within the hot spring facility, there is a food and drink area with meals you can enjoy at a wallet friendly price
Additionally in the tofu factory nearby, you are able to purchase handmade tofu and rich soy milk.

About “Inakaya” morning services
A local Café, , has a special breakfast offer for our guests.
The temple café on “Shukubou way” street, 3 minute walk from the inn has a special morning meal set for Juan guest house customers. It is 500yen (not tax included) the home brewed coffee.
*it is possible to change the coffee for juice. It is perfect for people looking to have a relaxing morning. The meal is available via booking and it starts at 8:30 am. Unfortunately, they are unable to provide the meal any earlier.
* “Inakaya” is closed on Wednesdays, therefore, customers staying on Tuesday will be unable to purchase the morning meal set here
*from December ~April, in the ski area, they open a café in “Nakanohara Ski Centre (2F)”, therefore, they are unable to provide the morning meal set. During ski season, the restaurants in the ski slopes provide morning meals, therefore, please go to these instead.

Activities around Ju-An
In walking distance form Ju-An, there are Soba restaurants which sell Daisen Soba and “okowa”; sticky rice with red beans, restaurants which serve seasonal mushrooms and edible wild plants and cafes where you can enjoy pancakes or light snacks. Additionally, there are leisurely courses as well as more intense courses and you can enjoy the beautiful wild life with Juan at its centre.
We also recommend Zen meditation and Sutra transcribing at the temple in the Daisen temple area.
In the winter it is a 15 minute walk from the ski slopes with a view of the ocean and the “Daisen White Resort”.
Other information

*the whole facility is smoking free
*please refrain from eating and drinking in the rooms. Instead please use the 1F cafeteria
*there are no clocks or TVs in the rooms
*please make your own beds and lay out your own futons
*we ask for a fee of 3000 yen if you dirty the bedding, so please keep it in mind

*about the amenities
These are not provided. Please purchase towels and tooth brushes at the front. Bath towels can be rented at a set cost. There are no summer kimonos (yukata) provided either, so please bring your own sleeping clothes

*about heating and air conditioning
Summer season… there are no air conditioners in the rooms. There is a fan in each room

Winter season (ski season)… heating in the whole facility (we require a fee of 500 yen for additionally to the regular fee)

*customers going hiking may be leaving early in the morning. Please attempt to be quiet after 22:00, where possible.
